History

In 1980, Broadlands, the original developer, sold the marina to the Auckland Maritime Foundation, a charitable trust initiated by Sir Earl Richardson, who had been involved with the marina from its inception.

The Auckland Maritime Foundation is administered by a board of Trustees, all of whom are personally involved in the marina’s operation. In addition to offering affordable berths, the Foundation Trust has continued to develop Half Moon Bay Marina to international standards.

Located in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf, this marina was developed in the early 1970s and is home to more than 500 boats. It’s on the Tamaki Estuary, just up the Tamaki river. Experience the ambience of one of the bars or restaurants at the Marina. Little Bucklands Beach is a safe swimming beach with stunning views that you can reach by strolling along the boardwalk past the boat sheds.
