Jump in the car and hit the road, head to the best strawberry picking farms, Auckland has to offer. If you’re looking for a fun summer experience that isn’t too costly, then make sure to add a PYO farm to your adventure list. We’ve done our research and curated a list of the 7 best berry farms for you.

Our top tip: Try to go as early as you can during the season, as you’ll find the yummiest ones of them all. Like the saying goes ‘first come first served’.

1. Phil Greig Strawberry Gardens

If you’re looking for a refreshing experience or a place to recharge your juice with a range of real fruit ice cream. Then look no further than these delightful strawberry gardens. Not only do they offer the sweetest tasting strawberries – they also have a delicious selection of real fruit ice creams and yoghurts. Loads of parking spaces available, plenty of picnic spots and a great playground for the kids.

2. Bell’s Berries

Bell’s PYO farm is a sustainable strawberry picking farm, it’s only been open for two years. They pride themselves on producing high quality strawberries with as low maintenance as possible! We can dig it. Bell’s encourages people to bring their own reusable containers else they do offer their own packaging which is sustainably sourced from sugar cane.

Not only do they provide three different types of berries to satisfy your appetite. They also provide real fruit ice cream including strawberry ice cream as well as some delicious Roma coffee. If the kids are animal fans, be sure to pay Barry & Garry a visit and Bubba the lamb, you’ve goat to be kidding me!

Get this: They named their farm after their 2 year old daughter Annabel. Super cute!

3. Sweet Red Stawberries

Go for the sweet red strawberries, stay for the nature. At Sweet Red, you’ll find some of the most juicy berries here. There tends to be a longish queue for payment so make sure to grab an ice cream before hand. Make sure to try the real fruit ice creams. Don’t miss this awesome Auckland strawberry farm.

4. Clevedon Strawberries

Not only does this Auckland strawberry farm claim to offer some of the juiciest strawberries available but they have a service with a smile. They have a great little friendly team of works that go the extra mile to make sure you’ve had a great day picking. 

Make sure you add this as a pitstop when heading south, we recommend trying a waffle with strawberries & ice cream or one of the other real fruit flavors!

5. Zaberri world

If you’re looking for a great experience with the kids, be sure to head down to Zaberri world. Lots to do, including an inflatable play ground, plenty of fresh berries to pick and a beautiful view. Make sure to try their fresh strawberry ice cream. This is one great Auckland strawberry farm! 

They have a delicious selection of strawberries & raspberries, straight off the vine. There’s some shady areas, just in case you forgot to pack the sun tan lotion. Be sure to add Zaberri as a pitstop.
