Buying Guide Stats

Keeping your home safe is of utmost importance as a property owner. This is because it will help ensure the security of your family members. It is also preferable if you leave your house unattended due to frequent trips outside the city.

Luckily, the best security cameras will help you keep your property safe in New Zealand. The device will allow you to scare intruders away and help you if your house ever gets robbed.

You can also install wireless cameras inside the house to keep an eye on your staff or babysitters. If you’re looking for the best security cameras in New Zealand, this guide will help you choose a suitable model.

Things To Consider When Buying The Best Security Cameras In New Zealand

Here are the top factors you must consider before getting the best home security cameras in New Zealand:

  • Size

The size of your security camera is essential to consider because you may be low on space. It also determines the visibility of the device. If you don’t want anyone to notice the security camera, you should opt for a small model.

Many cube security cameras are suitable if you don’t want the device to be highly visible. Mini spy cameras are also best if you’re placing the tool inside the home.

You may also not have enough space outside if you’re installing several security cameras in one place but overlooking different angles. This is why understanding the size using the product’s dimensions will help you.

  • Features

A security camera can come with a few to several features. Some of them are helpful and will cater to your needs better. Besides that, a security camera with more features is also suitable for high flexibility.

Here are some essential features that can make your security more robust and suitable for surveillance.

  • Night Vision

Night vision is an essential feature that must be present in your home security camera if you want to keep the property safe at night. It will help you catch intruders easily and prevent your home from getting robbed. The security camera will also allow easy identification if any guest is waiting at the door.

This feature is also handy for indoor cameras if you keep lights off inside your home. You can install the device in your baby’s nursery for easy monitoring or in your study if you store valuable documents.

  • Two-Way Audio

A microphone system in your home security camera is also essential to consider. This feature is mainly suitable if you are getting an indoor device. It can help you communicate with your staff easily.

Most people get home security cameras with two-way audio for monitoring their baby during the day. You may leave your kids with a babysitter. So the security camera can offer high protection and help you be at ease.

  • Sensors

Motion and heat sensors in home security cameras do not have to be present necessarily. However, they can offer more flexibility in specific cases.

For instance, if the visibility of the security camera is obstructed, the sensors can help you see if someone is present in a particular part of your home. This feature is also helpful if your home security camera does not have night vision.

  • 24/7 Recording

This is another feature that is not essential but can ease your life. 24/7 recording is suitable if you feel your property is unsafe all the time. It will help you protect the home easily and keep intruders away.

Meanwhile, a home security camera that works for 12 hours is also suitable if you will keep the device on during the night only. The best way to get this factor right is by considering the battery life.

High battery life will allow you to enjoy 24/7 recording. Other features that you may want in your security camera are a 360° viewing angle and internet connectivity.

  • Weatherproofing

Weatherproofing is an essential thing you must consider when getting the best security camera in NZ. If the device is weather proof, you can install it in your outdoor area for protection. This feature will help the security system work during rain, storms, and other harsh weather conditions.

If your home security camera does not have weatherproofing features, it will only be suitable for indoor use. So you must consider this option to get the best value for money. Typically, models with weatherproofing are more reliable and durable.

  • Resolution

The resolution of your home security cameras must be top-notch for excellent service. It will make the device compatible for various purposes and help you enjoy high visibility. Typically, you should opt for surveillance cameras with 2K or 4K quality.

However, remember that the quality of videos will also affect the device’s price. Home security cameras with 4K resolution are more expensive than models with 2K quality. Other features that affect resolution include the brand.

  • Connectivity

The connectivity of home security cameras is another factor that will help you determine the ease of use. Smart indoor and outdoor devices are suitable if you want to connect the camera to an app. Internet connectivity is also essential for cloud storage.

Besides that, you should also ensure your outdoor camera has a high range so that it can easily remain connected to Wi-Fi. Typically, IP cameras have high connectivity and smart features.

  • Storage

In most cases, you will require your home security cameras to store the footage for some time. This offers more flexibility and protection. This is why you must consider the storage options. Some models come with built-in micro SD card storage.

Meanwhile, home security cameras with smart features mainly use cloud storage instead of a microSD card. However, these models also have higher price tags. So you must understand your needs to determine whether you require a microSD card or cloud storage.

  • Price

The price of your home security cameras is essential to consider. Expensive models have multiple features to offer high flexibility. Meanwhile, outdoor security cameras with low prices also have low resolution.

So you must understand your budget to determine which price range is most suitable for you. It will also help get an indoor or outdoor camera most compatible with your needs.

Besides that, you should also note that smaller models are priced in a lower range. You can invest in spy cameras to save money. However, expensive security cameras are more reliable due to their better components.

The brand will also help you in getting the best model. Some companies offer only expensive models such as Swann and Altro. Meanwhile, Eufy and Lenovo have reasonable home security cameras.

Discover Serenity: Auckland’s Best Lakes

0
Best Lakes in Auckland

Auckland is welcoming to different types of travel plans. It boasts of some of the best landscapes and beautiful sights; hence, it attracts many visitors yearly. For example, you can watch whales and other sea creatures at any time of the year in the Hauraki Gulf or jet ski on many beaches in New Zealand. If you prefer something quieter, visit the lakes.

Auckland lakes add beauty to the city and can be explored at convenience. Below are some of the best lakes in the city that you can visit with friends and family.

Lake Wainamu, Waitakere

Lake Wainamu is a popular swimming spot for residents and tourists. It is located behind high dunes of black sand and is comfortable to relax, away from the strong wind and riptides of the nearby Bethells beach.

Apart from the lake and evening swims, you must first go through the black sand dunes, which is an enjoyable climb. The large lake has a car park about 15 minutes from the lake. Although dogs are not allowed, there are toilets, and you can stay at nearby hotels.

You can also extend your visit to the Waitohi falls, which is only a short hike from the lake. Wainamu lake is a natural beauty famous for its excellent water quality. As a result, it is not monitored since the Auckland council does not consider the water risk to public health.

Lake Rotoiti

Lake Rotoiti is located in the Tasman Region of New Zealand. It is about 269 ft deep and is surrounded by beech forest. The beautiful lake is great for trout fishing and swimming, as the water is refreshingly cold. Apart from this, you can access hot pools on the other side of the lake by boat.

The Manipuri hot springs are quiet, and their water comes from natural springs heated by geothermal activity. As a result, the pools have different temperatures. This is the place to visit if you desire a stunning view of unspoiled nature. The lake water is crystal clear and has roads to the South and west.

Anchor Bay

The Tawharanui Regional Park is home to one of the best beaches in New Zealand. The park features pockets of rock pools, walking tracks, white sand beaches, and a lot of native birds. Anchor Bay is located 80 minutes’ drive north of Auckland and is usually packed with visitors. However, you can always check out quieter spots.

Anchor Bay is a good place to surf and enjoy a good view of the surrounding areas. There are changing rooms and bathrooms near the beach. Also, the beach is spacious enough for everyone, even on popular holidays, and is one of the best surfing and secret swimming spots in New Zealand, even for beginner surfers.

The bay is divided in two by easy-to-climb but slippery rocks. From the top, you can enjoy a view of the beach in both directions; hence, it is a perfect place to take photos. You will also visit some native birds and the famous pohutukawa trees. But since it can be slippery, tread carefully.

Lake Rotongata (Mirror lakes)

Lake Rotongata is a small volcanic lake referred to as the mirror lake. As the name implies, the lake is clear and sometimes creates a mirror effect when you visit in the morning before the high winds cause ripples. It has a platform 100 metres above, allowing a good lake view. The lake is also close to Lake Rotorua, so that will be two visits in one.

Oakley creek waterfall

Oakley Creek is the only waterfall within the Auckland city area. It is located within the Oakley reserve and is called the Te Auaunga. A path leading up to the fall is great for walking. The creek is rich with abundant native forests, exotic fauna and flora, including the threatened New Zealand longfin eel.

Oakley Creek falls is a six-metre high natural waterfall, the highest urban waterfall in New Zealand. Visitors can take the steps down for a closer view of the waterfall and enjoy many other sights within the reserve. You can’t swim in the water, which can be high after rain events.

Mount Aspiring National Park

If you fancy mountaineering, add Mountain Aspiring National Park to your checklist. The park offers a mixture of beautiful river valleys, remote wilderness, and high mountains. Visitors can explore the park’s alpine lakes, glaciers, and mountains through various short walks at the end of the access roads.

The park has a massive wilderness and wildlife habitat at the centre. With abundant rainfall in the west, there is a beech forest and various waterfalls you can visit. You don’t need to worry about accommodation as the department for conservation provides camping areas.

Some activities you can try in the public park include visiting the blue pools, valley walks and mountain trails, jetboating, and heli-skiing. The walk around the beautiful pool is suitable for children, and you can join boat trips to create a complete adventure.

Lake Pupuke

Lake Pupuke is a freshwater lake that occupies a volcanic crater between the suburbs of Takapuna and Milford on the North Shore of Auckland. Unlike other craters that were breached by erosion or buried by later volcanic rock, Lake Pupuke is famous for recreational activities.

People come to the large lake for water sports like fishing, swimming, boating, and diving. Therefore, you and your friends can visit if you all fancy water sports to participate in or enjoy the view.

Conclusion

New Zealand has some of the most beautiful lakes in the world. You can plan a visit to any of these lakes and enjoy a refreshing dip on a hot day. Some of the lakes listed above allow water sports activities, and you can even do some fishing. Interestingly, they are a few minutes’ drive from the Auckland region.

The Best Escape Room In Auckland

The Best Escape Room In Auckland

You’re in a room full of clues and puzzles, the clock is ticking, and a mystery must be solved. Isn’t there just something special about the escape room experience? Your heart is beating faster, your mind is racing, and you can feel your adrenaline levels getting higher by the minute that you’re closer to solving the mystery or puzzle in front of you.

For those who don’t know, an escape room is precisely what the name suggests. People get locked in a room, or a series of rooms that usually have a theme or a setting, and they need to play games (puzzle-solving or problem-solving) within a certain amount of time to accomplish goals that lead them to find the key that can unlock the room.

Escape rooms can be so much fun, especially when done with close friends/family. However, leave your short-tempered friends and family members at home. Escape rooms are also a fun activity for birthday parties (kids and adults), a fun date, or as a team-building activity. Believe it or not, escape games are a great way to learn more about a person. You get a front-row seat to someone’s problem-solving ability, common sense, and observational skills while having a lot of fun.

Let’s go through the best escape rooms Auckland has to offer!

They had a mission and that mission was to bring Filipino dishes to Auckland, New Zealand. Back then, there were only a few Filipino places with takeaway service. Through trials and tribulations, Turo Turo became a huge success. Filipino natives who were missing the taste of their country could easily find their way back to their most loved dishes. Every main dish comes with rice and soup, like in most Filipino restaurants. They have amazing service and yummy food, the complete experience – all for an economical price. This is what makes it one of the most well-loved Filipino restaurants in Auckland.
